Fragments
Dance on Camera- 2012

“Fragments” is a short film, that presents isolated sections of the human body. Every part of us speaks it’s own language before and after they relate back to the body as a whole. We take our bodies for granted. We have endless ways to communicate through. ”Fragments” uncovers and displays the layers we hold within our skin. “Fragments” is a short film that introduces conversations between bodies. Our bodies reiterate and describe along with verbal dialogue. We use our knees, ankles, clavicle etc. to relay our message to everything beyond ourselves. ”Fragments” uses the camera to lead the eye away from the common place of expressivity and focuses on the body below the neck. This gives the audience a guided spectatorship rather than a general view. Bridge & Olive Dance puts dance behind the lens in order to redefine the body and offer a fresh outlook on the strength of body language.
